Up to 24 players compete at the same time. Every round brings a mini mode – everyone gets the same balls, words and timings, only your reaction counts. Too slow or a wrong tap costs a life. After each round, the slowest 20 % are also eliminated.

The last two play a best-of-3 final. Everyone else watches and picks the winner.

Three. Every wrong tap costs a life – after three mistakes you are out. In the final, lives don't count, only rounds won.

• Color Hunt: tap all balls of the target color.
• Word Trap: tap the color of the text – not the word.
• Don't Tap!: tap the blue balls, but hands off as soon as the orange stop ball appears.
• Green Light: wait for green, then tap – too early costs a life.
• Number Rush: tap the balls in order: 1, 2, 3 …
• Pairs: find the two balls with the same color.

Color Hunt comes up most often; from round three on, all modes are in play.

So you never have to wait long: if a lobby isn't full after a short while, computer opponents fill the free spots. Like humans, they play at different speeds and make mistakes too.

Yes – turn on colorblind mode in the settings. The balls then also get shapes, so you can tell them apart without color.

In Ranked matches you earn rank points depending on your placement: up to +35 for a win, up to −15 for the last places. With enough RP you climb – from Bronze through Silver, Gold and Platinum up to Diamond.

In your first 10 Ranked matches and as long as you are in Bronze (below 550 RP), you don't lose rank points. So you can warm up in peace.

About 60 days. Every season has its own leaderboard and its own Season Pass. How long the current season still runs is shown in the Season tab of the app.

Once a day, three rounds with the same balls for everyone – so the daily leaderboard is truly fair. You get one attempt per day. If you cancel before the first round starts, it doesn't count.

130 levels across different worlds. You earn up to three stars per level; stars unlock new areas and rewards. Perfect for practicing new modes.

Your own Scitch event on the big screen – for teams, streams, parties or classrooms. You create a lobby, show the QR code, and everyone plays along on their phone.

No. Players scan the QR code or enter the code on scitch.com, type a name and play right in the browser. The app works too, of course.

Up to 50 players per lobby. You choose the modes, number of rounds, lives and whether bots fill free spots.

Yes – simply restart the lobby. All games end up in the lobby history, with final standings and an overall ranking.

No. The app automatically creates a guest account on first launch. Secure it with your email address (Profile → Sign in with email) so you don't lose your progress and can use it on a new phone.

To sign in, we email you a six-digit code. That is safer than a password you have to remember – and nobody gets into your account without access to your inbox.

Yes, once, under Profile. Usernames are unique and may only contain letters, numbers and the characters - _ .

Secure your account with your email address first. On the new phone, sign in under Profile → Sign in with email with the same address – done.

In the app under Profile → Delete account. This deletes your account and your game data. Alternatively, write to us at andy@dercoder.com.

Sign up at scitch.com/beta. As soon as a spot is free, you'll get your personal code and the link to TestFlight (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) by email.

Install the beta via the link in the email and open Scitch – the app asks for your code right away. Paste it, tap "Redeem", done. Each code works exactly once.

Right in the app under Profile → Send feedback. A screenshot can be attached automatically, together with your device and app version – so we can find bugs quickly.

At the official launch, leaderboards, rank points and map progress may be reset. You keep your exclusive "Beta Tester" frame and purchased content.

The app reconnects automatically and you keep playing. The match keeps running in the meantime, though – missed taps can cost you lives. A stable connection is worth it for Ranked.

iPhone with iOS 15 or later and Android phones with Android 7 or later. In the browser, Scitch runs in current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

No – Scitch is built for portrait so everyone has the same board.

Our server measures every reaction itself and checks it for plausibility, such as inhumanly fast or suspiciously even taps. Suspicious results are always reviewed by a person before anyone is banned.

No. You can only buy cosmetics (ball designs, frames) and the Season Pass. In the game, only your reaction counts.

Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play – you request refunds there (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com, Google: in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions). More on the right of withdrawal is in the terms.
